Kidney Cyst

Kidney cysts are diagnosed after abdominal imaging studies such as ultrasound, CT scan or MRI. Based on characteristics of the cysts, additional testing and monitoring are needed. For cysts with suspicion for cancer may require surgical removal by urologist. Kidney cysts can also be inherited such as polycystic kidney disease. Simple cysts are usually benign in nature and commonly diagnosed after the age of 50 and more common in men. We assist in evaluation and referral to urologists if surgery may necessary.
